Doolittle Dance & Raffle WWII machine gun shoot

After watching closely, the ever-changing news and updates, the Pendleton Air Museum with heavy hearts has decided to postpone the Doolittle Dance and all associated events scheduled for April 18, 2020 at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation with plans to reschedule the Doolittle Dance as quickly as possible. Please check back often as we update our page for this Pendleton Air Museum fundraiser.

We have postponed this event - please watch for new date coming soon. Only the date is changing
Our Vietnam War Veterans Open House event scheduled for Saturday; March 28 will not take place this year. Our veterans are an integral part of events like this and we are respecting their choice to stay at home and be honored from afar. Explore the posts we are sharing with you about the Vietnam War. And the next time you see a veteran be sure and tell them “Thank you” for their service and your freedom.

Events & Happenings

The story of C-lager: Stalag Luft IV & the 86-Day Hunger March is an account of the service history of Sergeant Donald D. Dorfmeier and the air war in Europe during WWII; his subsequent capture, participation in the longest forced march of any group of Allied POWs in Germany during the winter of 1945, and later escape during the closing weeks of the war. The story also chronicles the heroism and spirit of airmen in his lager who exhibited the courage and inspiration to survive a long and difficult march in spite of great hardships and much suffering that would "haunt them for many years to come."
This documentary focuses on the people and events surrounding WWII that helped shape Pendleton, Oregon. Pendleton Air Museum appreciates all the hard work member Terry Becktol who spearheaded the making and production of "World War II in a Wild West Town." The new dvd originial artwork has been designed by Pendleton Air Museum member Carl Merkle.
